Since this is starting TOMORROW we figured we should probably put together some rules to get this thing started off. It appears that the easiest way to do this would be to have TWO different challenges. The first would be a weight loss challenge and the second would be a point challenge. At the end of the challenge – September 6 – we will have two winners – one for each challenge (we can figure out the prizes later).
Weight Loss Challenge – Each of us will weigh in TOMORROW, July 12th. Each week we will record our percentage lost on the blog (to figure out the percentage lost take the total lost since July 12th and divide it by your July 12th weight). Since we’re starting this on a Monday, we’ll weigh in each Monday morning and record the percentage on the blog some time that day.
Point Challenge - Each week you can earn points based on your “healthy” lifestyle. On the blog record the points you’ve earned that week and also list the total amount of points you’ve earned for the contest. We’ll post these on Mondays as well.
Exercise:
1 Point – Exercising at least once during the week
2 Points – Exercising three times during the week
3 Points – Exercising fives times or more during the week
(Exercise equals at least 30 minutes moderate intensity)
Eating:
1 Point – Meeting your calorie/eating goal at least one day during the week
2 Points – Meeting your calorie/eating goal three times during the week
3 Points – Meeting your calorie/eating goal fives times or more during the week
(Since not everyone will be counting calories, you can earn points as long as you reach your eating goal for the day)
Miscellaneous Weekly Points:
1 Point – No soda all week (Soda includes ALL carbonated drinks)
1 Point – One serving of fruits each day of the week
1 Point – One serving of vegetables each day of the week
1 Point – Drinking 64 ounces of water each day of the week

ReplyDeleteSo I already have one unacceptable point regarding this challenge -I don't like the birds for the design. I'll live with it but I prefer something in a winning blue/greenish (Seahawks). Anyway - Good luck one and all and I hope you are all losers by the end of this challenge :)

ReplyDeleteYou all will be proud of me ... I've already lost 1 pound since my prepoop weight this morning (It was a good one) and I didn't even lick my fingers when I packed cheetos for the girls this morning. That was really hard!

ReplyDeleteDarn you LoseIt people! Oh and for the calorie thing....this whole thing is pretty much honor system. I know some people aren't counting calories but are making daily goals for themselves. My goal is 1800 calories.
